THE VII INTERNATIONAL ECOLOGICAL FORUM "The Ecology of Big City"

Last years in most districts of Russia they are monitoring some considerable adversity of the ecological environment. Citizens of big industrial cities are suffering from it most par acutely. Therefore some special measures for settlement and improvement of ecological problems are taking on special significance.

The VII International Ecological Forum, which takes place on March 13 – 15, 2007 in Saint Petersburg, is devoted for such problems. Within the framework of the Forum only two trade fairs will be held in the Northwest Region: The III International industrial exhibition of technical facilities and services for collection, treatment and utilization of production and consumption wastes “Wastes management: technologies and equipment” and the XIV International industrial exhibition of the constructions and devices for protection of water and air basins and environmental protection services ”Ecology of Big City”.

The largest Exhibition Center in Saint Petersburg “Lenexpo” organizes these events under the state support of the Russian Ministry of natural resources, of the Housing Committee by the Government of Saint Petersburg and of the Committee of natural resources and environmental protection by the Government of the Leningrad District, the Department of the Federal Agency of nature management in the Leningrad District, the Northwestern Department of the Public Joint Stock Company “Center of Environmental Improvement and Wastes Management”, the Association of Support and Development of Ecological Rehabilitation System “Clean City”, the Association of Ecological Cooperation by the Saint Petersburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

MAIN GOALS OF THE INTERNATIONAL ECOLOGICAL FORUM:

To provide good conditions for development of the regional and international collaboration in the field of environmental protection and nature management
To demonstrate and advance environmental protection projects, benefits and technologies
To establish contracts between formers, producers, distributors and consumers
To develop of investment policy in environmental sector of economics
To take part in formulating of the state ecological policy and realization of effective measures for environmental protection
