Organise a Wind Day event
Global Wind Day is the perfect opportunity to
• Raise public awareness of wind energy
• Show that wind energy is a key solution to the energy crisis and climate change
• Demonstrate that wind energy is a solution that is already working
Most popular activities in 2010 included: wind farm open days, wind power exhibitions,
photo and art competitions, bicycle tours and running races, educational activities for
young people.
Events bring wind to the people as well as people to the wind: by organising wind energyrelated
activities in large urban areas in addition to activities in and around wind farms.
The Global Wind Day is coordinated by the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA)
and the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC): we update the GWD website, provide press
releases and distribute gadgets to event organisers.
